A new Deloitte study predicts over 3.75 million households will buy and own more than one tablet in 2012. That’s roughly 5% of the current tablet using population. Android tablets, the kind you can download the Next Issue app on, take up 27% of that market.
This is considerably faster adoption compared to tech of years gone by. It took several decades before we had more than one car, one TV or one PC under one roof. It also took at least a good decade for more than one family member to have a cell phone.
Apple still takes up a majority of the market at 67%, but first time buyers more easily adopt the 7 and 10 inch Android devices to fit in their purse or travel bag. That also makes for the perfect magazine tablet app reading size. Just saying.
