It’s all part of the U.N.’s HeForShe campaign, which aims to “galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for change.” As Goodwill Ambassador for U.N. Women, Emma Watson has been making waves in the fight for global gender equality for six months now. But her campaign-launch speech at the U.N. headquarters was a total game-changer.
Her point: Gender inequality is men’s issue too. After all, “How can we change the world, when only half of it is invited or feel welcome to participate in the conversation?”
Watson goes on to denounce the “women against feminism” movement and the “us vs. them” mentality concerning gender. Watch the full speech below (originally from Vanity Fair).
